This was one of the worst vacation experiences of my life, and I have gone to many All-Inclusive resorts. Funjet rated it as a 4.0 out of 5 rating, which if it was a 4 out of 10 Iโ€™d still think it was too high.

I have stayed at other H-10 resorts and this is by far the worst. The fun started when we arrived at the resort and tried to check in at 4:30PM (room was supposed to be ready at 3:00PM) and we were told our room was not ready yet. So we were told to tell the bellmen, who were watching our luggage, our room number and go get something to eat and come back in an hour. There was a buffet restaurant near the front desk, but we were shuttled to a restaurant by the beach about 300 yards away from the front desk area.

We went in the restaurant and were told they had stopped serving food about an hour before we got there. So, now had to walk all the way back to the front, we got to the buffet restaurant and were told they didnโ€™t start serving until 6:30PM, a little frustrating. We went back to front desk and were told our room was now ready, we checked to see if our luggage was still with the bellmen and were told it was already taken to our room, so we walk (about 200yds) to our room. When we got to our room, no luggage and the room was terrible.

Iโ€™m truly not that picky, but the room was dirty and I mean gritty dirty, dirty pillow cases, no cover blanket just a sheet on the bed, no shampoo, no body wash, no wash clothes or hand towels. We did find a blanket in the closet, but when we opened it up it was stained and had a lot of hair on it, apparently never cleaned. I put the blanket and the dirty pillow cases on the floor to make sure they were not re-used and hopefully get cleaned. But most important we needed our luggage, so I walked back to the front desk (about 200yds) and was told our luggage was just now being delivered to our room, so I walk back to room.

No luggage, so I saw a bellman in a small truck delivering luggage at another building and was told mine was not there, but it was still up front with the bellmen. So you guessed it walked back to the front desk, and what magically appeared our luggage was now there when it wasnโ€™t an hour earlier. I was just going to take it myself to my room, but was told to let the bellmen load mine and some other luggage into a small truck and heโ€™d drive me and my luggage back to my room. When we got to our building I grabbed my luggage, told the bellmen these two were mine, and was on my way to my room.

Just after I got to the room the bellman knocked on the door, I opened and he said here is the rest of your luggage (not mine, but someone elseโ€™s) when I had just told him those werenโ€™t mine. Now I can see how luggage is getting lost. Finally we had our luggage, now it would be nice to have a clean room in this supposedly 4 out of 5 rated resort, so I went back to the front desk again. They were all apologetic and told us to go have dinner, by now 6:30PM, and everything in our room would be taken care by the time we got back.

We had dinner at the buffet, and the food was average at best, then we went back to our room hoping to take a shower and turn in early after a long stressful day. We had been up since 2:30AM. When we got back to the room it was still dirty, and the dirty pillow cases and stained and dirty blanket from the dirty floor were put back on the bed. I could not believe it, and nothing else was done, I mean nothing.

Room was still dirty, floor gritty dirty, dirty pillow cases and dirty blanket from the floor up back on the bed, no shampoo, no body wash, no wash clothes or hand towels, no nothing. By now I was in disbelief that it could be this bad, so back to the front desk again, now about 8:00PM. At this point we just wanted shampoo, clean pillow cases, and maybe a blanket, just so we could clean up and go to bed. I was told someone would take care of it right away.

No one did, I called front desk (tried of walking back and forth) and was repeatedly promised these very basic things would be provided, but not until after 10:00PM, and several more calls to the front desk, did we finally get shampoo. But no clean floor, no blanket, no clean pillow cases, no wash or hand clothes, no body wash, etc. So the next morning I went to the front desk again and was reassured that all would be corrected. So we had breakfast and went to the beach and came back to our room late morning hoping that things would be done.

The maid had been there (she took the money I had left for a tip) but still did nothing else. I could not believe this was happening, let alone in a 4 star resort. Iโ€™ve stayed at resorts with lower rating then this and received substantially better service and treatment. One more time to the front desk, we had literally been there less than 24 hours and I must have had to go to the front desk at least 10 times let alone numerous calls I had made, and they actually had a different maid come to our room.

We finally had the very basic things you expect even in 2 star resort, clean floor, towels, shampoo, body wash, clean blankets and pillow cases. I still must say that none of the bedding, furnishings, or quality of the room were worthy of 4 star rating, they were all very plain white sheets micro fiber blanket, definitely nothing like the website photos depicted. The room was very worn, dark stains around the toilet floor and in the tub, caulking coming off, just very worn. What Iโ€™d expect if I were staying at a much cheaper resort, not at a 4 star resort.

As mentioned above food was very average at best, resort amenities also average. Second night we dined at the steakhouse restaurant, which was offering a New York Strip. Iโ€™ve had New York Strip in the past, typically an inch to an inch and a half thick, so we both ordered ours medium rare. The dinner salad came and was undressed; we had to ask for dressing.

Then the steak came it was a half inch thick at best and was well done, and definitely the worst steak I had ever had. So grisly I couldnโ€™t and didnโ€™t finish it. We ended up going to the buffet and pretty much had similar experiences at the other so called specialty restaurants. Sad when the best place to eat is the buffet.

The beach was the only saving grace to prevent our trip from being a total disaster. Would I stay here again? *** NO, and Iโ€™ll think long and hard whether or not Iโ€™ll ever stay at an H-10 resort again either.

This is truly a 2.5 to 3.0 star resort. Respectfully, Ron

I'm currently dealing with Funjet trying to get a refund for a cancelled trip. Once they book your trip and take your money, they disappear.

It's impossible to reach anyone.

When you call they tell you there's a 94 minute wait to speak to someone. I would NOT recommend them to anyone!

I didn't quite catch the location of this roach motel.

Reminder : Always bring your own soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.

It won't take up any more luggage space than another pair of shoes and is way more useful.
